We are getting married!

On the 6th September, 2024 we will be joined in holy matrimony and want to ​share this incredible day with you.

We’ve created this website to help you plan for your trip, complete with travel ​instructions, hotel and transportation options, things to do around the area and ​the schedule for the big day.

You can RSVP using the form at the bottom and we will contact everyone to ​provide info in the build-up to the event.

The Schedule

Closest airports to the venue:

Vigo (VGO) which is a 30 minute drive

Santiago de Compostela (SCQ) which is a 1hr 15 minute drive

Porto (OPA) which is a 1hr 45 minute drive

For guests arriving from London there are direct flights from London to Vigo, however these don’t run every day.

Santiago de Compostela airport has more regular direct flights from London and we can arrange transport from there to Baiona.

More flight times are likely to be added usually within 6 months of the departure date.

from Lucerne 🧀🇨🇭

For guests arriving from Lucerne there are no ​direct flights to Vigo (VGO) from Zurich airport ​(ZRH), Geneva airport (GVA) or Basel airport ​(BSL). The stopover is usually in Madrid or ​Barcelona.

However, there are frequent direct flights to ​Santiago de Compostela (SCQ) from Geneva ​airport (GVA). There are also flights from Zurich ​and Basel but less frequently.

The wedding begins at 5pm so we advise either arriving the day before or a morning flight on Friday (be sure that you can ​check in to your hotel early to give you enough time before the wedding).

Things to do

In Baiona, Spain, you can explore: the historic Monterreal Fortress, visit the replica of La Pinta (one of ​Columbus’s ships), stroll along the charming old town, and enjoy fresh seafood at the local restaurants. ​Don’t miss the stunning views from Monte Boi and relax on the beautiful beaches like Praia de América.

At the bottom of this site you will find your link to RSVP to let us know your attendance, as well as allergies, children in ​attendance, contact details etc.

Please RSVP no later than June 2024.

What will the weather be like?

In Baiona the weather in September is generally very pleasant. Throughout the daytime, temperatures often hover around 21°C. ​As the sun sets and evening approaches, there's a noticeable cool-down, with temperatures gently dropping to a more ​temperate 16°C.

Baiona in September does receive moderate rainfall - around 11 days of rain. Fingers crossed we have good luck on the day of ​the event, but be weary for the rest of your trip to bring appropiate clothing.

Languages

Service / staff on the day will speak Spanish & English. Expect to hear English, Spanish and Swiss-German at the ​wedding from guests - so be ready to toast with Cheers, Salut & Proscht!

Matrimony will be a short ceremony in Spanish in the Chapel.

how we met

Our story began in October of 2012 at ​University. We became best friends right ​away sharing a mutual love of mischief and ​humor.

Fast forward a year later and we decided to ​give this friendship a different title. On a rainy ​Halloween night we said our first “I love you” ​and ever since then we have been ​inseparable.
